As fall finally starts to roll in, a few of us from the Tartan thought it would be fun to introduce ourselves in the easiest way we know how: by sharing our favorite fall outfits and the treats we can’t stop snacking on. Nothing fancy, just the things that make this season feel like ours.
Everyone has their own little fall traditions, whether it’s pulling out the first comfy sweater of the year, mixing up a weirdly perfect candy combo, or settling into the kind of routine that only autumn seems to bring. So here’s a small look into who we are, starting with the Chief Editors.

Fall has always been one of my favorite times of the year from cozy outfits and warm drinks to watching one too many heartfelt movies. My go-to candy combo is Twix and pretzels, a perfect mix of sweet and salty. Lately, I’ve been living in oversized hoodies, sweaters, and matching sets. There is something so comforting about being both comfy and cute. What I really love about fall is how it slows life down. I notice the colors of the leaves, enjoy pumpkin painting with friends, and make it a mission to try every new seasonal drink. It is also a season that strengthens my faith and reminds me that change, even when unexpected, can be something beautiful.

For me, fall is jean jacket and sweater season! One of my favorite fall outfits is pictured below. It features a white sweater from Hollister with a puppy on it that looks like my dog. I love bringing part of her wherever I go! I also love watching the leaves change during fall, and it reminds

me that every season brings new opportunities and chances to start again. As an avid photographer, I love the colors fall adds to my shots. Additionally, fall tends to have the weather I enjoy most, and I truly love drinking tea on those colder days to warm me up. Funnily enough, I am one of the few people who truly enjoy candy corn, and I have recently begun to mix it with Chex Mix, creating a nice and balanced salty-sweet combination.

Personally, fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love the vibes, the temperature, and the fashion that comes with it. My go-to outfit is a cute skirt, a cozy sweater, and knee high boots because it feels like the perfect mix of warmth and style. When I get home, I usually change into leggings and watch my favorite fall shows with a candle lit, my cat next to me, and tea in hand. One of my favorite things to do is read when it is raining outside. Seeing all the pretty leaves fall makes me feel like such a Pinterest girlie. Even though I am not a big candy person, my favorite is Sour Patch because they are an OG and so yummy. I definitely recommend rewarding yourself after studying with a sweet treat, and Sour Patch Kids are always my go to.

Fall outfits for me usually start with a pair of jeans and either my bow-boot Uggs or sneakers. I love the beginning of fall because it’s not too warm or too cold, so I can actually dress nicely without worrying about the weather. As it gets colder, I stop trying as much and switch to dressing for warmth. That’s when I basically live in sweats, hoodies, and really warm leggings. My shoes rotate between my bow-boot Uggs, my Ugg slippers, and sometimes sneakers.

With Halloween coming up, I’ve been thinking a lot about candy combos. My favorite gummies are peach rings or gummy sharks, and my favorite chocolate is the Hershey’s Cookies and Cream bar. Honestly, I’m more of an ice cream person anyway. Fall gives me the perfect excuse to eat warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream, and if I have that along with a cozy fire and a blanket, I’m happy.

Fall is when most of my family’s birthdays happen, so it has always been one of my favorite seasons. At the start of fall, I am usually still wishing it were summer and holding onto my tank tops and shorts. Once the leaves begin to change, I finally start leaning into cozy sweaters, pants, and hot drinks.
When I put together fall outfits, I usually start with neutral or earth-toned colors like tan, beige, brown, gray, blue, green, or red. I like to finish the look with one accent color, whether it is a scarf, a headband, or a top that matches my shoes.
Since Halloween is coming up, I have to mention treats. My favorite candy is Kit-Kats. I am not the biggest fan of Halloween, but I love having an excuse to spend time with my friends and dress up in a fun costume.
Overall, fall is the perfect time to settle back into schoolwork, make Starbucks runs, and plan the coziest outfits.

Fall is definitely my favorite time of the year for a plethora of reasons! From the weather, to the food, and activities, it’s all so exciting. I love going to New York during the fall because it’s not too hot but not too cold, and you get to see everyone in their cute accessories—scarves, hats, gloves, vintage bags and more! I personally like going more comfy than cute, but when dressing warm there’s always options. Layering is one of my favorite things about fall fashion—throwing on a short-sleeve over a long sleeve, wearing fold over pants under your jeans, or even just a simple leather jacket over a hoodie. I’ve also noticed jewelry really stands out around this time of year and can elevate even the most laid back outfit!
I also love all the fall festivities that are available like apple picking, pumpkin carving, hay rides, haunted houses! My favorite things to grab when trick or treating would have to be Snickers if we’re talking chocolate, and Sweet Tart Ropes for general candy. Fall is the best time of year in my opinion, and it’s a great opportunity to explore all the fun, fashion, and treats it has to offer!

Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons throughout the year. It is the perfect time to get a cosy blanket, put on a soft sweater, and read a book or watch a movie. Although cute fall fashion is not my forte, I do enjoy my selection of cosy sweaters and sweatshirts.
For me, fall is always the perfect time to bake. I love to make an assortment of cookies, my personal favorite being snickerdoodles which are pictured below, for my friends and family! I also look forward to drinking a hot chai latte as the colorful leaves fall to the ground, listening to my fall themed playlist.

Fall is my absolute favorite season, filled with apple cider, pumpkin pie, and the excitement of starting a new school year! One of the best aspects of this time of year is the cozy autumnal fashion: for me, this means sweaters, mittens, Ugg boots, and fashionable scarves to stay warm and stylish. After trick-or-treating with friends, I always return to Swedish Fish and Smarties as my favorite candy combination. This pairing creates the perfect blend, between the sweetness of the gummies and the tangy crunch of the Smarties. One of my favorite fall activities is to cuddle up under a blanket with my golden retriever and read some quality fiction. I’ve included a picture of my spooky pumpkin-spice Halloween cookies!

I know fall is here when I feel a cool morning breeze and hear leaves crunch under my feet. In New Jersey the weather can go from hot to freezing overnight, so it’s tricky to make a closet that is both warm and stylish. My tip is to focus on layers. A light hoodie over a shirt works for me. If I get too warm, I can tuck it in and make a cropped look. Tights are also great. Pair a summer skirt with thick, skin-colored tights and suddenly it works for fall. You don’t need a whole new wardrobe for every season.
If style isn’t your thing, fall is perfect for treats. My family loves homemade pumpkin dip with cinnamon sugar chips, but stores have plenty of easy pumpkin options too. Starbucks pumpkin bread is one of my favorites.

For me, fall always feels like a peaceful gap after a long, busy summer. It’s a season that can make everything slow down. I love wearing soft hoodies lined with fleece, that can make me feel cozy and warm. I also like adding scarves, not just for warmth but they make everything look a little more put together.
When it comes to treats, I’m always about simple sweetness-a slice of pumpkin pie are my favorite fall snacks. There’s something about the taste of pumpkin spice that feels comforting and warm.
Most of all, I love walking outside during fall. I enjoy walking along forest paths.I enjoy strolling along forest paths and listening to the soft crunch of fallen leaves beneath my feet.

Fall always seems to sneak up on me, the air turns crisp, the days grow shorter, and suddenly I’m craving everything cinnamon. The season instantly puts me in a clean, cozy mode. I’ll spend hours rearranging my room, adding fall decorations, fairy lights, and warm scented candles, until it feels like a perfect autumn haven. Once everything’s just right, I curl up in my cream fizzy blanket with my pumpkin spice frappuccino from Starbucks and binge my comfort shows, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Friends, and The Office. I also love baking sweet treats for myself, like cookies, cannoli, or chocolate brittle. Lately, my go-to outfit has been a long brown coat layered over a cream sweater, jeans, and long brown boots.
It’s simple, warm, yet just cozy enough to make me feel like I’ve stepped out of a fall movie. I also love spending time outside during the golden hours, when the sunlight turns everything to amber and soft; it’s the perfect time to take photos of the leaves changing color and all the small, beautiful moments that make fall feel magical. My favorite snack combo is Reese’s and mini pretzels; it hits that sweet-salt balance perfectly. But more than anything, I love how fall feels like a gentle reset, how the world slows down to notice and take in the little moments that make life feel warm.

Fall has felt like a gentle beginning of the school year, a season filled with warmth, family gatherings, and reflection. It’s the time of cozy, dark mornings, filled with pumpkin in the air. Watching the leaves change colors from green to the vibrant red and orange. Pumpkin picking, baking warm cookies, and lastly going to fright fest and haunted houses with my friends. My favorite candy combo has been m & m’s and popcorn, perfect for those warm afternoons binge-watching movies. This time of year my wardrobe switches, from the fun summer clothes to the comfy and warm fall sweaters. Going back into the big cozy sweatshirts and sweatpants wrapped in warmth.

Stacey
Autumn is my favorite season to buy cozy clothes and binge-watch my favorite movies. I love ordering all the new fall drinks during the season. Buying new clothes and an array of fluffy blankets every year is the best part of Fall. There’s something so fun about being able to finally layer my outfits to go out with friends. Despite these all being fun activities, my favorite thing of all is how quickly the sun goes down. It makes organizing my room and decluttering enjoyable, even when I find it difficult.
After hearing everyone’s fall favorites, one thing is clear: this season brings out the softer, slower parts of life that we don’t always stop to appreciate. From warm outfits to sweet snacks to the simple comfort of a good routine, these moments say a lot about who we are. This is just the start, and we’re looking forward to sharing even more stories as the year goes on.
