Last month, the Upper School’s halls buzzed with Halloween excitement as students and staff dressed up and participated in the day’s festivities. The spirit of the season was on full display as the school came together to celebrate in spooky style.
Throughout the day, the various advisories worked hard to craft their pumpkin masterpieces for the annual Pumpkin Contest. At the end of the day, the Duolingo pumpkin took home the title of Most Relevant, and Ms.Voicu’s advisory won for their clever cat-in-the-box pumpkin. The Coraline pumpkin added a spooky touch to the competition, and the Cutalo advisory creatively used the leftover trash found in the upper school as props for their Oscar the Grouch pumpkin. Each advisory brought something unique to the table.
The costume contest was a highlight for many, with its impressive and comical outfits. Every student and faculty member went above and beyond with their costumes, giving life to their characters and dedicating themselves to their role. The overall winner of the competition went to the Despicable Me group, with the minions wearing iconic blue overalls and yellow faces, accompanied by Gru and even Vector. For group costumes, the SNL Domingo Skit took the top spot, embodying the humor and charm of the popular skit with the audience joining in in singing. The Lorax won in the solo category, and Lightening McQueen and Mater from Cars won the duo category. On the teachers’ part, the Cheetah Girls from the STEM Department wowed the audience with their dancing skills.
As the day continued, the Upper School had the pleasure of watching the Lower School parade and then made their way through the school to trick-or-treat for candy. The joy and laughter throughout the day made this Halloween celebration one to remember!
