Game 5 of the MLB World Series saw the Houston Astros and the Philadelphia Phillies fight for critical win at Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia.
The Phillies rolled out their powder blue uniforms for their final home game.
Astros’ José Altuve started off strong to score in the first inning. Astros pitcher Justin Verlander, who favors high pitches, gave the Phillies their first home run of the game by Kyle Schwarber.
Top of the second inning saw Phillies pitcher Noah Syndergaard take out Yuli Gurriel, Kyle Tucker, and David Hensley with ease.
ALCS MVP, Jeremy Peña hit his 4th postseason home run in the fourth inning. The standout shortstop became the first rookie shortstop MVP and postseason home run hitter.
Incredible attempt by Houstons’ Gurriel during the the 7th inning to keep himself on the bases, running back and forth between third and home plate. Ultimately, a hit from the Phillies took him out.
Altuve scored again in the eighth inning and Phillies’ Nick Castellanos scored as well to close out Game 5 with a final score of 3-2 Astros.
The Houston Astros lead the series 3-2 as the MLB World Series heads back to Minute Maid Park, Houston for Game 6 on Saturday.
